Community outreach programme
At FIG2026 the Community Outreach Committee will ensure the community’s involvement in the event is meaningful, consistent, and with participation in activities that will help support and improve their social wellbeing.
Call for Curio & Craft Vendors (Micro-Enterprises)
We invite micro-enterprises—especially women-led and disadvantaged-community-owned enterprises—to exhibit and sell authentic South African curios, crafts, and design products to delegates at FIG taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Who should apply
- South African citizens
- Micro-enterprises
- Vendors aligned with FIG 2026 community outreach objectives: equity, empowerment, inclusivity, and sustainable local impact.
What we’re looking for
- High-quality, locally made curios/crafts (preference for sustainably sourced or recycled materials).
- Basic branding/presentation (we’ll guide you on affordable options if needed).
- Ability to transact on-site (card/QR recommended, etc).
What you’ll receive
- A curated exhibition spot (table and two chairs) within the conference precinct.
- Access to an international audience of geospatial professionals.
Your commitments
- Attend the compulsory vendor readiness session before the conference.
- Maintain professional standards at your table throughout the event.
Selection & fairness
Applications are assessed against our community outreach policy criteria, with weighting for: motivation and alignment to transformational goals; demonstrated historical disadvantage; potential for sustained impact; and geographic/sectoral diversity.
Spaces are limited to ensure quality and impact; shortlisting will be communicated directly.
